In a gym that normally is drowned in Chargers\’ green and gold, pink dominated Tuesday as scores of fans showed up to support the second annual Dow High Volley for a Cure. Local businesses helped host the event, and loyal fans and students helped raise over $5,000 to combat breast cancer. The humanitarian campaign was a great success, as was the Chargers match against visiting Saginaw Heritage as Dow came away with a 25-12, 25-22, 17-25, 25-23 win over the visiting Hawks, while the junior varsity and freshman teams experienced success, as well. The Chemics found the Trojans achilles\’ hell Wednesday, using a staunch defensive attack to shut down Saginaw High\’s offense and three touchdowns by Tyler Kuehne to build an early lead before coasting to a 41-0 win at Midland Community Stadium. Read→
The Mount Pleasant freshman football team proved to be as slippery as its mascot, giving Midland Dow defenders fits, and racking up over 300 total yards and five rushing touchdowns along with three through the air in a 48-0 win Wednesday over the Chargers at H.H. Dow High. Read→
Despite dealing with turnover problems, the Midland freshman football team was able to jump out to a big lead against visiting Bay City Central and stymie a late charge by the Wolves to take a 41-21 win Wednesday at Midland Community Stadium. Read→
Trailing by two points with less than a minute left, Mount Pleasant took to the air in dramatic fashion and Ryan Elliott connected on a 20-yard touchdown to Zac Kramer to take the lead with :42 remaining to post a 19-14 win over the Chemics at Midland Community Stadium. Read→
