The Midland Chemics varsity volleyball team swept visiting Heritage 25-17, 25-10, 25-17 to pick up a win and improve their record to 10-0 in league play for a third straight year. In a gym that normally is drowned in Chargers\’ green and gold, pink dominated Tuesday as scores of fans showed up to support the second annual Dow High Volley for a Cure. Local businesses helped host the event, and loyal fans and students helped raise over $5,000 to combat breast cancer. The humanitarian campaign was a great success, as was the Chargers match against visiting Saginaw Heritage as Dow came away with a 25-12, 25-22, 17-25, 25-23 win over the visiting Hawks, while the junior varsity and freshman teams experienced success, as well. The Midland High freshman volleyball team opened its season at the Saginaw Heritage Freshman Quad Tuesday, dropping games to Hemlock and Heritage before defeating Alma to close out the evening and finish 1-2. Read→
