Meridian jumped out to an early 32-0 lead, led by Matt Bowen who finished with 228 yards and four touchdowns, to capture a 58-8 win Friday to pick up its sixth win of the season and clinch a spot in postseason play. The Midland junior varsity football team hosted Flint Southwestern Academy Thursday at Midland Community Stadium and picked up a 55-0 win in convincing fashion. Alex Rapanos passed for three touchdowns and rushed for another and Saxdon Miller rushed for two more to lead the Chemics. Midland improved to 8-0 on the season. They return to action Thursday, October 23 in a battle of unbeatens with cross-town rival Dow High. Read→

Soccer: Chargers blank Chemics to advance to district finals

An action-packed, back-and-forth game saw both teams battle through the downpour to take a scoreless tie into the half, but Dow found their water shoes first when a Bruno Stortini shot found the back of the net, mere minutes into the second half, to propel the Chargers to a 2-0 win over the Chemics in the district semi-final.
