Midland Dow football coach Kurt Faust announced Monday he is stepping down after six seasons at the Chargers\’ helm. Citing personal reasons, Faust delivered his letter of resignation to Athletic Director Ted Davis Monday morning before informing his players of the decision after school. Read→

Meridian employed a suffocating defense Friday, scoring two defensive touchdowns to lead the Mustangs to a 34-7 win over Tawas in the opening round of the Division 5 football playoffs. Jason Hockemeyer and Dakota Brodsky tied for the team lead with eight tackles apiece. Offensively, Matt Bowen finished with 147 yards on 17 carries to lead the Mustangs. Read→
The Big Ten connection was in full effect Friday at Midland Community Stadium as Spartan commit Andrew Maxwell and Northwestern-bound Drew Moulton combined for three touchdowns to lead Midland to a 42-7 win over visiting Arthur Hill in the first round of the Division 2 football playoffs. Read→
The Chemics are headed to the state playoffs in style, led by Michael Albrecht and Andrew Maxwell, who combined to score four touchdowns in a convincing 35-8 win over cross-town rival Dow High in the regular season finale Friday at Midland Community Stadium. Read→
The junior varsity Chargers fell in an early hole against their cross-town rival, but fought back in the second half to score 20 unanswered points and come away with a 20-10 win over Midland and cap a perfect 9-0 season. Read→

The Midland High freshman football team returned the opening kickoff for a score en route to 35 first quarter points Wednesday as the Chemics defeated Dow High 41-0 at H.H. Dow High School. Read→
Meridian jumped out to an early 32-0 lead, led by Matt Bowen who finished with 228 yards and four touchdowns, to capture a 58-8 win Friday to pick up its sixth win of the season and clinch a spot in postseason play. The junior varsity Chargers traveled to Mount Pleasant Thursday to do battle with the host Oilers and used a little offense and a whole lot of defense to come away with a 13-0 win and remain unbeaten on the season. Read→
The Midland junior varsity football team hosted Flint Southwestern Academy Thursday at Midland Community Stadium and picked up a 55-0 win in convincing fashion. Alex Rapanos passed for three touchdowns and rushed for another and Saxdon Miller rushed for two more to lead the Chemics. Midland improved to 8-0 on the season.
