Clinton has now won all five meetings between the two teams, following a 4-2 conquest over Great Lakes Thursday at Dow Diamond.

Cristian Santana reached on an infield single in the fourth allowing Jonathan Greene to score all the way from second base for Clinton’s first run on the ballgame.

Andrew Lambo responded in the fourth inning with a solo homerun, his 14th of the year, to tie the score at one.

The Loons took the lead on a double by Kenley Jansen, with Francisco Lizarraga scoring ahead of the relay throw.

But Mitch Moreland, who hit the game-winning homer Wednesday, slugged a shot in the sixth inning to tie the game at two. The LumberKings took the lead in the sixth on a two-out chopper up the middle by Carlos Dominguez.

Neither starter in the game factored in the decision. Thomas Melgarejo allowed two runs and struck out six in five-plus innings for the Loons. Michael Kirkman allowed two runs in six innings. Miguel Sanfler (2-4) entered with no outs in the sixth and allowed the go-ahead run in the eighth for the loss. Fabio Castillo (2-3) threw two perfect innings for the win. Seventeen year-old lefty Joseph Ortiz recorded his first save of the year.

The Loons continue their series against Clinton Friday night at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Bryan Morris (1-4, 3.63 ERA) will start for the Loons against Clinton righty Ryan Tatusko (2-6, 4.23). A fireworks show will follow the end of the game.
