After an Andrew Lambo cannon blast brought Great Lakes even with Peoria 1-1, the Chiefs took a page out of the Loons playbook using the long ball to pull ahead for good and come away with a 7-1 win.

The Loons trailed 1-0 in the fourth, when Lambo connected for his 12th home run of the year to tie the score. But the Chiefs responded in the fourth scoring two unearned runs against reliever Justin Miller (3-8).

Miller allowed three more in the sixth on a long three-run home run by Guyer.

Peoria tacked on one more run in the eighth on a solo home run by Luis Bautista off Miguel Ramirez. Ramirez plunked Guyer with the next pitch. Both benches emptied and words were exchanged, but order was restored and no one was ejected.

Great Lakes committed a season-high five errors in the game.

Second-round draft choice Josh Lindblom started and threw two innings in his second professional start, allowing one run.

The Loons finish their six-game road trip through Illinois 3-3.

The Loons (12-19 second half, 41-58 overall) come home for a six-game home stand at Dow Diamond, beginning with a three-game series against the Clinton LumberKings. The first game is Wednesday night and is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Given Kutz (3-3, 4.76 ERA) will start for the Loons.
