Arismendy Castillo pitched six innings of one-run baseball and was aided by Great Lakes’ seven-run, 12-hit output in the Loons’ 7-4 victory over Burlington in the first of a four-game series from Community Field.

Castillo (1-1) picked up his first win of the season.

Offensively, Adolfo Gonzalez paced the Loons’ 12-hit attack with four hits, including a double and a triple. Gonzalez also drove home two runs. Francisco Lizarraga added two hits, both doubles, and two RBIs, while Eduardo Perez had a pair of hits and two RBIs. Trayvon Robinson added two hits, as well.

Juan Apodaca broke a 0-for-16 start to the 2007 season with a solo home run in the eighth inning.

The Loons stole a team-record six bases against catcher Brady Everett on the night with Perez picking up an individual team-record three. Robinson swiped two.

The Loons’ win and Dayton loss pulls the Loons (18-24) to within 11 ½ games of the Dragons.

Game two against the Burlington Bees is Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. ET. Right-hander Josh Wall (1-5) will get the starting nod for the Loons against Everett Teaford (1-3).
